Tommie Long McClain, 87, formerly of McSwain Dr. and wife of the late Kenneth McClain, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2018.
Born in Seneca, she was a daughter of the late Thompson and Allie Long.
Mrs. McClain was a graduate of Coker University. She taught elementary school at Sarah Collins, Lake Forest, and Buena Vista and was a member of Pendleton Street Baptist Church.
She is survived by four children, Patti O’Connell of Greenville (Joe), Suzanne Neal of Greer (fiancé, Chuck Gregory), Sidney McClain of Pelzer (Jo), and David McClain of Belton (Abby); 13 grandchildren, Keri Emily, Chad, Lindsey, Maxcy, Jennifer, Jessica, Katie, Jonathan, Caleb, Paul, Luke, and Erin; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Judy Quattlebaum of Atlanta.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jamie Neal.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, October 17, 2018 from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown followed by the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
