SUMMERTON – Sandra Lee Walker Wells, 79, wife of Gene Thomas Wells, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at her home.
Born May 5, 1944, in Orangeburg, she was a daughter of the late William Seay Walker, Sr. and the late Adele Dantzler Ulmer Walker. She was a member of Summerton Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher and GA leader.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years of Summerton; four children, Meredith Keller (Dean), Becky James (Tripp), Ken Wells (Bridget) and Walker Wells (Marlee), all of Summerton; eleven grandchildren, Wes Keller (Kaitlan), Will Keller, Sydney Wells, McKenley Wells, Mandy Wells, Sara James, Wells James, Beau James, Bennett Wells, Leah Michael Wells and Tanner Wells; three great grandchildren, Reed Anderson, Luke Keller and Ellee Thomas Keller; a brother, Bill Walker (Debbie) of Charleston; a sister, Judy Horton (Jack) of Manning; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Thomas Wells.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 23, 2023, at Summerton Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Chris Wells officiating, assisted by Rev. Billy Carlisle.
Pallbearers will be Wes Keller, Will Keller, Seay Walker, John Horton, Nebraska Moore and Delmar Jenkinson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Shannon Wells and Cag Brunson.
The family will receive friends at the residence, 1764 Summerton Highway, Summerton.
