Mary Frances Coker Johnson, 87, of Conway passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 2, 2018.
Mary Frances was born in Columbia, S.C. to the late Walter Thomas (W.T.) Coker, Jr. and Laura Nichols Coker. She grew up in Charlotte, NC and graduated from Myers Park High School. She graduated from Coker University in 1951. She met her husband of 61 years, W. T. (Tim) Johnson, Jr. on a blind date and they were married on October 11, 1957. They came to Conway in 1962 and she taught school at Conway High School until 1965. She attended First Baptist Church, was a member of the Ivy Garden Club, and enjoyed playing bridge in her bridge club.
Mary Frances was predeceased by her parents, and by her son, William Timmons (Trey) Johnson, III. She is survived by her loving husband, William T. (Tim) Johnson, Jr., her daughter Laura Johnson Edge and husband Edsol, and two grandchildren Jerry E. Edge, III and Laura Coker Johnson Edge. Special friend, Lula B. Dewitt, also survives her.
Services will be held at 2:00pm on Monday at the First Baptist Church of Conway. Dr. Ray Lundy officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm in the Fellowship Hall. Burial will follow in Lakeside Cemetery.
