Linda Anne Hein

Linda Anne Hein, 84, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2024, and was born on August 7, 1939, to William Neil, Jr. and Gladys Helen (Kitchen) MacPherson in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was a beloved wife, stepmother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will miss her dearly. She graduated from South Side High School, Fort Wayne in 1957. She went on to college and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Commercial Art from Coker University, Hartsville, South Carolina, in 1961. It inspired her special interest in Interior Design that laid a foundation for her future career. Through her 20s and 30s, she found great success serving others in the retail furniture, paint store and floral arrangement industry. It all tied into her special passion for the colors of nature, birds and gardening throughout the rest of her life. She found her greatest pleasures of pastime from a bag of potting soil and a garden shovel in her hand. She completed her occupational life managing State Farm office for her late husband, Thomas. By occupation and personal skills, her greatest strength was in serving others. That connect to purpose in service was grounded by a devout Christian faith. She served years of early in life in Episcopal churches and recently, a beloved walk of life at Avalon Church, Fort Wayne. She truly found the greatest joy and refuge in the Body of Christ to carry her through the years. Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Hein, parents, William N. and Gladys MacPherson; and brother, William “Mac” MacPherson III. She is survived by her children, Timothy Alan Hein of Fort Wayne, Gregory Scott Hein and wife Amy of Noblesville; brother, Bruce and wife, Deborah MacPherson of Fort Wayne, Indiana; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; several generations of nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
