Ann Axson Gelzer Black, 89, wife of the late James Ansel Black, Jr., passed away January 29, 2024.
A native of Horry County, daughter of the late William Porcher and Maud Elizabeth Dusenbury Gelzer, she was a retired employee of Pickens County School District and a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, James Ansel Black III (Renee) of Havana, Florida and William Daniel Black (Julie) of Greer; a daughter, Melissa Elizabeth “Betsy” Black Brady (Tim) of Piedmont; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
