Columbia, South Carolina – A private memorial service for Ruth Kirksey, 92 was held December 17, 2020 at Williams Memorial Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Charlotte N.C.
Born in Clio, S.C., She passed peacefully at home. The loving daughter of the late Daniel B. and Myrtle Robertson McInnis.
After graduating from Clio High School, she attended Coker College. Her employment was with Blue Cross Blue Shield in Durham, N.C.
After living in Sebring, Florida for 30 years, she and her husband retired and moved back to S.C. She was a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Columbia, S.C. and was active in volunteer work.
She will be remembered for her glowing smile, loving soul and her caring generosity of others. She was blessed with many friends as she and her husband traveled and lived in several states.
She was predeceased by her husband, William Kirksey of 50 years.
She is survived by nephews, Larry McInnis, West Columbia, S.C, Danny McInnis, Bristol, VA, Jim Roberts, St. Paul, MN, nieces, Cathy Evans, Tatum, S.C and Mary Neill, Shallotte, N.C.
The family is very thankful for the loving care of Pathway Hospice Staff and her personal caregivers Shirley Allen and Shirlene Johnson.
McEwen Funeral Home of Charlotte, N.C. was in charge of the service.
