Marvin B. Bell graduated from Coker University in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a focus on management. During his four-year career on the Cobras basketball squad, Bell held or set several individual game records including Most Field Goals and Most Points. He also established numerous career records during that time, including Free Throws Made, Most Field Goals, Most Points Scored, Most Games Played and Most consecutive Games Played.

By the end of his college career, Bell had played in all 87 games the Cobras played from 1973-1977, scoring 1098 points. At the time of his induction into the Coker University Athletics Hall of Fame, Bell is ranked No.9 on the Cobras’ All Time scoring List, 24 years after his last game. While a student, Bell was elected to the May Court and he served on the Recreation Association and the Commissioners.
