Lisa Johnson Ard graduated Cum Laude from Coker University in 1988, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education, in addition to experiencing a stellar career with the Cobra women’s Basketball Team. When Ard joined the Coker squad in 1985 she was named the team’s Most Improved Player.

During her next three years, she was named to the NAIA all American Team (’86, ’87, ’88). She was named the C. G. Timberlake Athlete of the Year in her senior year. While at Coker, she participated in many extracurricular activities, including the Commissioners, the Student Admissions Council, intramurals, and working in the Financial Aid office.

Since graduation, she has experienced a very successful teaching and coaching career. She was named Sumter School District Two Teach of the Year in 1996. In addition, Ard was named to the Mid-8 Coach of the Year 1992, ’93, ’94. She has led Crestwood High School’s women’s baseball team to the play offs every year since 1998. She was named Girls’s Coach of the Year in 2004 and Region 6AAA Coach of the year in 2005. Ard is currently a teacher at Mayewood Middle School and Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Crestwood High School.
