It is with deep sorrow that Mr. Brevard Tyford Beasley, Jr. announces the death of his beloved wife, Mrs. Kathy Lowery Beasley, 61.
Mrs. Beasley entered into rest on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. The Directors of Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home & Crematory are caring for the family.
A funeral service to honor her life will be held at 3 o’clock on Saturday, May 3, 2025, in Kelleytown Baptist Church, with The Rev. Tim Skipper officiating. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service.
In honor of Kathy’s deep love for animals, and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Darlington County Humane Society, a cause that was especially close to her heart: DCHS, 580 E. Washington Street, Hartsville, SC 29550.
Born on June 8, 1963, in Lancaster, SC, Kathy Lowery Beasley was a cherished daughter, wife, sister, godmother, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her.
Kathy pursued her education with passion, earning a bachelor’s degree from Coker University and a master’s degree from Troy State University. She carried that same devotion into her career, retiring from Sonoco after 29 years of service. Her work ethic and integrity were admired by colleagues, but her greatest legacy was the love and joy she brought into the lives of those around her.
Kathy was adored by her family and friends, who found in her a source of support, laughter, and kindness. She leaves behind her loving husband, Tyford Beasley, who she loved with all her heart; her devoted parents, Shannon and Jean Lowery; her sister and brother-in-law, Karol and Jim Dixon; her brother, Wade Lowery; Jean Beasley, her mother-in-law, and Bill Morrison; her brother-in-law, Rodney Beasley; her uncle and aunt, Leroy and Peggy Lowery; her cousins, Sue Pigg and Debra and Mark Hammond; and her beloved 13-year-old dachshund, Charlie, who held a special place in her heart. Kathy was also a proud godmother to Chelsea Miller and her husband Andrew, as well as Drew Gantt, his wife Kelly, and their son, Barrett; and a best friend to Laurie Gantt with whom she shared lots of laughter, adventure, and unconditional love.
To know Kathy was to love her, and all who had that privilege are forever changed by her presence. Her love was boundless, her laugh infectious, and her kindness unmatched. She was stubborn, protective of others, strong, and never allowed circumstances outside of her control to define her.
To the family and great friends who have been there for Kathy and Tyford throughout the years, thank you. Kathy and Tyford love you all, and if you are reading this, know that you are one of those friends.
