JOAN BAMBERG OBITUARY

Joan Terrel “Terri” Bamberg Mt. Pleasant – Joan Terrel “Terri” Bamberg, 73, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, wife of the late Guy Erwin Hancock, III, entered into eternal rest Thursday, December 1, 2022. A private Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, December 13, 2022. The family will receive friends Monday, December 12, 2022 in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mount Pleasant Chapel, 1494 Mathis Ferry Road, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Terri was born September 16, 1949 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late George Hammond Bamberg, Jr. and Joan Cauthen Bamberg. Terri was a graduate of General William Moultrie High School and Coker University, where she received a BA degree in Business Administration. She worked many years in the medical field as a business office manager before retiring. Terri’s love for beach music and shag dancing was known by all who knew her. She also loved traveling with her late husband, reading and watching golf. Terri was raised in the Episcopal Church and enjoyed attending service and serving as a reader at Bishop Gadsden while her late mother was a resident. She is survived by her three children, Elizabeth “Lisa” G. Sharpe (Bill) of Mount Pleasant, SC; Sarah A. Gambrell of Mount Pleasant, SC; and Charles E. Gambrell, IV of Mount Pleasant, SC; granddaughter, Mary Hammond Elizabeth Sharpe; brother, G. Hammond Bamberg, III (Helen) of Awendaw, SC; sister, Betsy Bamberg of Mount Pleasant, SC; nieces and nephews; and close friends.
