Sympathy is extended to Alice in the death of her husband James “Rudy” Catoe

James Rudolph Catoe, affectionately known as Rudy, 72, passed away on September 16.

Funeral services will be held at the Hartsville First Church of the Nazarene on Tuesday at 3:00. The family will have visitation at the church one hour prior to the funeral. Reverend John Griggs and Reverend Brian Enlow will officiate. Burial will be in the Magnolia Cemetery.

Mr. Catoe was born in Hartsville. He was the son of the late Rudolph and Constance Sumner Catoe. He was retired from Sonoco Products Company after 50 years of service. He traveled extensively for many years with the company. Mr. Catoe served as president of the Hartsville Dixie Boys Baseball Program for many years. He was also a Mason. He was a kind, faithful man that enjoyed adventure, but found his greatest pleasure spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving are his wife Alice Walters Catoe of 52 years, one son Michael Catoe of McBee, and one daughter, Kelley (Brandon) Sick of Rock Hill; seven grandchildren, Mikayla Catoe, Canton Catoe, Landon Catoe, Kennedy Catoe, Trace Catoe, Sumner Sick, and Loren Sick; one great-grandchild, Kayson Catoe; two sisters, Gayle (Johnny) Russ and Wanda (Tommy) Johnson, both of Hartsville. He was preceded in death by his son Jamie Catoe and one brother, Randy Catoe.

Memorials may be made to Hartsville First Church of the Nazarene at 1909 West Bobo Newsom Highway, Hartsville, SC 29550 and Lake Robinson Baptist Church at 2308 Lake Robinson Circle, Hartsville, SC 29550.
