Yvonne Abernathy Penn, 69, passed away on Aug. 7, 2018, in her residence. She was born March 26, 1949, in Spartanburg, S.C., to J.C. Abernathy and Margaret Hilda Petit Abernathy. Yvonne was a case manager for the West Central Indiana Economic Development District for over 26 years. After her retirement in 2010, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She received her B.A. degree from Coker University in South Carolina. She was a member of the Berean Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Don Penn Sr., whom she married Aug. 1, 1970; her son, Don Penn Jr. (Kristi); her daughter, Alison Cottrell (Dean); grandchildren, Jacee Cottrell, Abbey Cottrell and Danielle Isbell (Wes); and great-grandchildren, Ethan Isbell and Owen Isbell. Visitation will be Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018, from 11a.m.to 1 p.m. in Roselawn Funeral Home with services to follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Larry Lilly officiating.
