Coker’s commitment to making a quality college education affordable for local students

If you’re from Darlington County or a neighboring county, a Coker University education is within reach financially. Residents from Chesterfield, Darlington, Dillon, Florence, Kershaw, Lee, and Marlboro counties with at least a 3.0 GPA applying as a first-time, full-time freshman residential or commuter student for fall 2020 are guaranteed at least 50% off tuition, which may include state scholarships and grants.

1. Apply to Coker University as a first-time, full-time freshman residential or commuter student. 

2. Submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Coker’s FAFSA code is 003427.

3. Schedule a conversation or a meeting with a Coker University admissions counselor

We currently give more than $14,000,000 in scholarship aid every year with more than 97% of our students receiving some form of financial assistance.

Yes, as long as you remain in good academic standing and fill out your FAFSA and necessary financial aid paperwork each year. Please note that students planning to live on campus are responsible for any room and board costs and fees not covered by their financial aid.

Many Coker Within Reach students will qualify for more than 50% off tuition. Complete the three steps above to help us determine how much you’re eligible for.

Coker Within Reach won’t always show up as a line item on a financial aid award letter as it’s a combination of state scholarships, grants, and Coker University institutional aid. If a qualifying Coker Within Reach student doesn’t qualify for at least 50% off tuition in scholarships and aid, Coker University will make up the difference to ensure a qualifying student receives at least 50% off tuition in scholarships and aid.

South Carolina residents from eligible counties applying for Coker University’s online undergraduate or evening programs are not eligible for Coker Within Reach, but they are eligible for financial aid. For more information, please contact admissions@coker.edu
