GRADUATE PROGRAMS
USEFUL DEFINITIONS
Registration
The process through which a student reserves a seat and adds their name to the roster for a section of a course. At Coker, registration is done in CobraStop.
Drop/Add Period
This is the period during which students are permitted to add or remove courses from their schedules with no record or academic penalty. Students can drop a course from their academic plan in CobraStop during the first week of the semester/term, or first two days of a Graduate Term.
Withdrawal Period
Students may remove a course from their schedule with no academic penalty. However, there will be a “W” record to indicate that the student was withdrawn from the class. After the withdrawal period ends students receive a grade of F if they withdraw (officially or unofficially).
Semester Hour
This is the unit of measurement for credits at Coker University. A course may have a value of 1-4 semester hours.
