Coker University is excited to introduce The Coker Connection Online Experience. Though we cannot wait to work with you face-to-face, we want to begin to connect with you and have you connect with us, Cobra to Cobra.
The Coker Connection Online Experience has three parts––an online course that walks you through what to expect academically and connects you to campus resources, a one-on-one personal conversation with your Student Success Coach, and a virtual small group meeting with a faculty member.
Please review the following steps closely:
- Step 1: Complete the online course. The online course will open the afternoon of Monday, June 1, 2020. While the due date to complete this course is July 31, 2020, the Student Success Center strongly encourages you to complete it as soon as possible in order to participate in & complete steps 2 & 3. You can access the course by logging into your Blackboard account here & selecting CU-100-01 under Courses. Please note that this course is self-paced and you do not have to complete it in one sitting. You are able to log-in and out as needed.
- Step 2: Meet virtually with your Student Success Coach. Once you complete the Student Success Center section of the online course, your Student Success Coach will reach out to set-up a one-on-one virtual meeting using Google Hangouts. More information about this process is available in the online course.
- Step 3: Attend a virtual small group meeting with a faculty member. Starting in mid-June, you will sign up through the online course to attend a virtual small group meeting with a faculty member. Your Student Success Coach will also assist in facilitating this process.
This exciting online experience will take the place of our previously scheduled Coker Connection dates. This is a time of staying home for the health and safety of our friends and families. Yet, your Coker University family still wants to reach out to connect you to campus by beginning the academic advising experience, meeting future classmates, and learning about campus resources.
All new incoming students are required to participate.
We can’t wait to connect with you! If you have any questions, please contact the Student Success Center at email@example.com.
