THE COBRA DEN / LOUNGES / RESIDENCE HALL PROGRAMMING
THE COBRA DEN
The Cobra Den, located in the basement of Coker Residence Hall, offers students an exciting place to hang out and enjoy guest DJs. Registered Student Organizations often sponsor theme nights in the Den, like Flashback and Halloween parties.
The Cobra Pit is also located in the basement of Coker Residence Hall. The Cobra Pit offers students the luxury of playing pool or watching television without having to leave the residence halls.
All Cobra Den and Cobra Pit events can be viewed on the campus calendar.
Dunbar Porch, located in between the Belk and Memorial residence halls on the second floor, is one of the favored recreational areas in the residence halls. It contains two ping pong tables, a big screen T.V., air hockey table, pool table, couches and chairs for lounging, and vending machines.
Spivey Porch, located in between the Belk and Memorial residence halls on the third floor, is our most popular study lounge in the residence halls. It contains two computers with Internet connection, study tables, chalkboard, and furniture for lounging.
RTC offers six lounges: two on each floor, beginning on the 2nd floor. The 2nd floor and 4th floor lounges offer flat screen TVs and lounge furniture for watching television or movies with your friends. The 3rd floor lounges offer a quiet place to study with study tables and furniture for lounging.
The North Rec Room
The North rec room is located on the ground level of the Richard and Tuck Coker residence hall. It offers a ping pong table, a couch and chairs for lounging, and a television.
RESIDENCE HALL PROGRAMMING
Getting involved in activities is one of the easiest and most enjoyable ways to make the most of your time in the residence halls. The Resident Assistants and Commissioners (New Student Mentors) provide monthly programs designed to develop community, educate, and enrich your experience at Coker College. In planning programs, RA’s and Mentors take into consideration the interests of their residents. Floor programs have included movie nights, floor decorating parties, campus clean up days, and special dinners with faculty members.
