Praxis Information

Praxis Information

Welcome to the Praxis Information page. Our hope is to provide you with information to aid in registering and preparing for the Praxis tests.

The Praxis I Pre-Professional Skills Tests (PPST®) measure basic skills in reading, writing and mathematics and include multiple-choice questions and an essay question on the Writing test. The tests are designed to evaluate whether you have the academic skills needed to prepare for a career in education. These tests are offered in computer-based and paper-based formats.

Praxis II Subject Assessments measure knowledge of specific subjects that K–12 educators will teach, as well as general and subject-specific teaching skills and knowledge. Some of these tests are available in paper-based format only, but others have the option for computer-based format.

To register for any Praxis computer- or paper-based tests, please go to http://ets.org/praxis. You will register and pay your fees through this site. If you live out of state or in another area of the state, there are other testing sites available. If you are unsure as to which Praxis I or Praxis II tests to register for, the second like below, SC Required Exams, will give you the appropriate names and codes for all state required tests.

For Praxis study help, consult the last two websites listed below.
