Instructor - Master of Science in College Athletic Administration
Dr. Wilson is currently an associate professor and program coordinator for Sport Management at Lees-McRae College in North Carolina. He holds a Ph.D. in Sport Management from The Ohio State University. His doctoral dissertation was entitled, “Examining Technology Utilization in Sport Management Curricula and Teaching.” His scholarly research focuses on pedagogy, technology, and internships in sport management and he has been teaching in Sport Management for nearly 20 years.
His professional experience includes several posts in college athletics, including stops at Cal and Stanford in their athletic departments. Additionally, he has coached volleyball for over 20 years and has coached at all collegiate levels, NCAA I, II, III, NAIA, and the NJCAA, in addition to coaching/leading several juniors clubs. He has also been a CAP instructor for USA Volleyball in coaching education.
In his spare time, Lonni enjoys bass fishing, boardgaming (euro games), pc gaming, backpacking, climbing, longboarding, and spending time with his family.
Lonni is married to Melodia Torres Wilson and resides in Newland, NC. They have three children: Wil, McKinley, and Izzabelle.
