Gid E. Rowell, Ed.D.

Instructor - Master of Science in College Athletic Administration

Dr. Rowell serves as an instructor in the Masters of Science in College Athletic Administration program with over 20 years of higher education experience in communications, athletics and university advancement.

He attained a Doctor of Education, specializing in Higher Education Administration from the University of Alabama and also holds a master’s degree in Public Administration and a bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of West Georgia.

His research interests lie in advancement, communications and college athletics and the title of his doctoral dissertation focused on the “Impact of Intercollegiate Athletics in Relationship to the Prosocial Behavior of Giving or Volunteering among Alumni.”

Rowell currently serves as the Director of Stewardship, Donor Relations and Communications at the Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA. In addition to working as a consultant in corporate communications, he has also served as the Executive Director of Communications at the United States Sports Academy, the Assistant Athletic Director for External Relations at Clayton State University, the Director of Alumni Relations at Clayton State, the Director of Sports Communications at Clayton State and the Director of Public Relations at Gordon State College.

In addition to his passion for college sports, Dr. Rowell also enjoys traveling in his spare time.
