HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Nov. 11, 2011 – Kendall Davis, vice president of marketing and programs for the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce, will present the 2011 International Insights Series Lecture at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15 in the Hannah Lide Coker Music Auditorium.

Also on Tuesday, Davis will participate in a roundtable discussion about marketing small towns in the Pee Dee region.  Other roundtable participants include Hartsville Mayor Mel Pennington, Coker College Associate Professor of Communication Dick Puffer, Coker College Assistant Professor of Communication Mark Glantz and College Relations Director Barb Steadman.  The roundtable, which is open to the public, will be held at 3:30 p.m. in the Daniels Board Room of the Charles W. and Joan S. Coker Library Information-Technology Center.

In her current position, Davis is responsible for the development and implementation of the marketing and advancement strategies as they relate to capital generation, including membership, affinity, programs, annual events and other non-dues revenue.

Prior to joining the Chamber, Davis worked for Richland County Government as the Senior Public Information Officer, where she was responsible for all media outreach, graphic design and was featured on Richland Revealed, the weekly news show about county happenings.

Davis was born and raised in Columbia, S.C., and is a graduate of Clemson University with a bachelor’s degree in graphic communications and minors in Italian, business and marketing.

Davis's visit, which was scheduled in conjunction with International Education Week (Nov. 14-18), is sponsored by the Coker College Culture Club and the Department of Communication, Language and Literature.  Also during International Education Week, an exhibit on Mexican artist Frida Kahlo is being displayed on the main floor of the college library.
