HARTSVILLE, S.C. – July 6, 2011 – Coker College recently welcomed Adam Connolly as Director of Admissions.

“I am thrilled to join the campus community and be a part of the amazing happenings at Coker College.  The college stands out from others, in particular, on the strengths of its roundtable learning, personalized attention to students and outcome-based teaching methods,” Connolly said.

“It will be a privilege for me to recruit talented students to Coker because I have seen for myself that Coker students are well served by the exceptional learning opportunities that are available to them here,” Connolly added.

Connolly, who joined Coker’s team on June 27, brings a strong background in recruitment, prospect and territory management, guidance counselor relations, and on- and off-campus programs.

“I am excited to have Adam joining Coker’s enrollment team and, especially, to his becoming a part of the Coker family and the Hartsville community,” said Steve Terry, Coker College Vice President of Student Enrollment Services.  “I look forward to working with him and am confident he will make an important difference here.”

In his previous position, as associate director of admissions at Florida Southern College, Connolly supported institutional efforts to broaden the geographical diversity of the student body – doubling the proportion of out-of-state enrollment and drawing particularly well from New England.

Adam holds the Bachelor of Arts in communication and history from the College of Mount Saint Vincent in New York and will complete a Master of Arts in higher education administration with a concentration in enrollment management from Drexel University this spring.

Previous to his tenure at Florida Southern, Connolly was as an Admissions Counselor and Assistant Director at Mount Saint Vincent.
