COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course is designed to explore and develop fundamental techniques and skills for the safe participation in a variety of adventure education activities through classroom-based and real-world experiences. Students will learn activities both on and off campus before taking a trip to North Carolina to whitewater raft and hike.  The trip provides learning opportunities about the environment, the history of Hot Springs and the Appalachian Trail and individuals who work specifically with others who teach and train in whitewater rafting, hiking, tubing, historical landmarks and taking care of the environment.
