Hartsville, S.C. — Coker College senior Michelle Heinzelman of Columbia presented a workshop at the South Carolina National Association of Social Workers  (SC-NASW) Spring Symposium held recently in Myrtle Beach.

The workshop, “Challenges and Possibilities for Social Services Delivery in Rural Communities,” was based on Heinzelman’s research into the social service resources and needs of Lydia, S.C. She worked on the project with Dr. Jeanne Cook, chair of the social work department.

The SC-NASW serves to promote the professional development of its members, establish and maintain professional standards of practice, advance social policies and provide services to protect its members and enhance their professional status.
