Compliance Certification Section 2.6

Continuous Operation

The institution is in operation and has students enrolled in degree programs.

Coker College is in compliance.

The College has had enrolled students every year since 1908. Currently on its Hartsville campus, there are about 430 day students who are seeking undergraduate degrees. These students may choose from 30 academic majors and 22 academic minors, as listed in the academic catalog [510, pp 13-15].

Additionally, Coker conducts evening programs on its main campus and at three off-campus locations: Fort Jackson (Columbia, SC), Lake City High School (Lake City, SC), and Mullins High School (Mullins, SC). These sites have enrollments of 315, 110, 49, and 122, respectively on 2/25/03. Evening students pursue the Bachelor of Arts, the Bachelor of Science, or the Bachelor of Social Work degree in one of six majors: Business Administration, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Psychology, Sociology, or Social Work. Some evening students may need to attend day classes or may need to commute to the Hartsville campus in order to complete all degree requirements.

Enrollment information is stored electronically in the college's administrative database, and is updated regularly by the office of the Registrar. A list of the number of graduates by major for 2002-03 is found in [544].

For recent numbers of students in particular degree programs, see the academic programs page.
