Communications

The Elizabeth Boatwright Coker Performing Arts Center makes Coker's communication major one of the finest in the state.

The Black Box Theater can serve as a television studio in addition to a performance space. Adjacent to the Black Box Theater is a Mac-based video production studio that gives Coker students a chance to learn the most recent digital editing applications.

The Center has audio production capabilities for use by communication and music students. An audio-visual classroom provides students with a place to view instructional material and student work, as well as classic and experimental films; students are also able to make full-scale multimedia presentations.

Coker’s communication program also uses the Center to host a film series in the Black Box Theater. The College works with International Film Circuit in New York to screen movies from all over the world.

Coker College upholds and defends the intellectual and artistic freedom of its faculty and students as they study and create art and live performances that explore the full spectrum of human experience. The College considers such pursuits central to the spirit of inquiry and thoughtful discussion at the heart of a liberal arts education.
