Staff Meeting Minutes Welcome — Given by Jennifer Rhodes Approval of Minutes—May 18, 2011 Minutes Approved A-Team Reports Dr. Robert Wyatt – The Administration Team will be off campus participating in a retreat. The enrollment numbers are looking good. Dr. Wyatt reminded staff that it is important to remain customer friendly and work hard to keep everyone happy. The college has to grow in order to provide financing to build more buildings and hire additional personnel. Dr. Wyatt reported that his office group will switch with Dr. Parkinson’s office group. The Office of Academic Records will move to the Administration Building and the ALPHA offices will move to the Wiggins House. Dr. Tracy Parkinson – Dr. Parkinson stated he is ―thrilled to be here‖. He also mentioned that students gravitate to staff that are knowledgeable and are able to answer their questions. It is important that we continue to work on keeping students around for their and our sake. Additional Reports Monique Richardson –To date we have 247 deposits including readmits. A Campus Visit Coordinator position was created and Jessica Baker moved into the position. We will be looking to fill the Admissions Counselor position vacated by Jessica Baker. April Palmer – The dorms are at capacity and an overflow plan has been developed. From today on any admitted students will be placed on a residency waiting list. Room placement is going on now and letters will go out beginning next week. Downtown lofts will be available for 20 upper classmen residential students. An open house may be scheduled. Brianna Douglas – A new timesheet has been developed for all employees. Exempt employees record only the days that they are off on the new form. The timesheets will be provided by departments, six months at a time, and can be accessed at the following link: T:\Employee Items of Interest\Timesheets. Customer Service Monthly Focus – Staff are encouraged to be good listeners to customers. Listen to what is being said and how communicated. At times the customer just needs to vent. Help the customer as much as you can. Share customer service email etiquette and other focuses with interns and work-studies. Staff Survey – The staff survey will be out soon. Staff are encouraged to complete the survey in order to provide input for the CSAC Committee. The information provided is important to the success of the staff council. Paper copies of the survey will be provided for Physical Plant staff along with sealable envelopes. The surveys will be entered by Kyle Saverance in order to maintain confidentiality. Lifesaver Awards Staff Excellence Award The recipient of the Staff Excellence Award for the month of July goes to Melinda Holland and was nominated by Dr. Steve Terry. New Hires Announcements
