Staff Meeting Minutes Welcome - Given by Jennifer Rhodes. Approval of November 18, 2010 Minutes—Motion made by Robin Perdue, 2nd by Kyle Saverance, passed. A-Team Reports Dr. Robert Wyatt—Reported enrollment is good but we need to keep on increasing enrollment. For the upcoming year there will be additional off-campus housing options and residency requirements for students. More information will be shared when the housing options and residency requirements have been finalized. Dr. Wyatt discussed updates of certain facilities that are currently in a “silent” phase. Members of the CSAC Committee that were rotating off were presented with certificates of appreciation (Tommy Baker, Leslie Doss, Ginger Freeman, Kyle Saverance). Lynn Rawls was presented a gavel for serving as the first CSAC Chairperson. Dr. Patricia Lincoln— Announced that an updated Strategic Plan will soon be added into the Common Folder on the T Drive. A campus wide Strategic Plan meeting will be held for faculty and staff next week. Dr. Steve Terry—Introduced Jeremy Nere as a new Admissions Counselor. On March 19, admitted and deposited students will be invited to participate in the college’s “Admitted Student Celebration Day”. These students will learn how to register for courses, use roommate matching software, plus more. Dr. Terry elaborated on the housing options and made note that two more 25 capacity locations are needed for the upcoming year in order to meet residency needs. Jerry Silver—Introduced April Leeth as the new Accounts Payable Coordinator. Mr. Silver also announced that Janice Bullard will be retiring effective January 28. Elaborations were made on the SRA Option, contributions to individual retirement funds, and tax shelter plans. Mr. Silver also noted that the Social Security Tax dropped from 6.2% to 4.2% for the first $109,000 of earning—for those that fit into this category, the adjustment began with the January 13 paycheck. Kyle Saverance— Introduced Barbara Steadman who recently joined Coker as the new Director of Media Relations. Kyle also announced that Christian Stryker’s duties now reflect those of the Director of Athletics Media Relations. He then reintroduced the remainder of his department: Ashley Simatic, Content Manager and Writer, Harrison Waters, Interactive Media Developer and Kyria Hoffman, Administrative Research Clerk. Lynn Griffin—Introduced Dan Muns as the new Womens Soccer Coach. Lynn announced faculty, staff, and students can keep up-to-date on Cobra news on Facebook at www.cokercobras.com; Twitter at Coker_Cobras; and YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/cokercobras. She also thanked Russ Croft and the Physical Plant employees for all the hard work they have provided over the last several months. Jennifer Rhodes—Read an email from Barbara Jackowski thanking the ALPHA team for their hard work as well as Tasha Stryker and Robin Richardson. Dr. Jackowski also thanked the Registrar’s Office for fixing problems and Tony Graham for helping with Datatel issues. The Physical Plant was thanked for clearing snow and ice on campus to make it safer for the ALPHA students and Campus Security was included for helping students arrive in class safely. She also commended Kyle Saverance and Ashley Simatic for spear-heading the ALPHA photo-shoot for new publications.
