Staff Meeting Minutes

Approval of Minutes
Nancy Edinger made a motion to approve the March minutes and it was seconded by Perry Wilson. Mary Lathan Steele made a motion to approve minutes of April meeting and it was seconded by Perry Wilson. Both motions passed.

Lifesaver Awards
Tarshia Edwards gave Lifesaver awards to Elaine Byrd for coming in on her day off to help fill in and to Cindy Griggs for her willingness to fill in and help at the last minute.

Jennifer Rhodes gave a Lifesaver award to Marsha Eide for helping with two large projects and scheduling candidates' arrangements.

Perry Wilson gave Jeff Lubetkin a Lifesaver award for helping a prospective student’s friend who had a dead battery.  He gave a good impression of the Coker spirit.

Staff Excellence Award (SEA)
Timmy Tyner received the May SEA. Everyone thanked Timmy for all of his hard work.

Friday afternoons off beginning May 28, 2010 
We will enjoy having Friday afternoons off through July 30th. If you do have to work on a Friday during the summer, you may take three hours off during the next week with your supervisor’s approval.

Employment Study
This fall, the College plans to do an employment study to determine the classification of its employees; exempt (salaried) or nonexempt (hourly). If you have any questions about your classification or any other Human Resources topic, please email Janice Bullard.

What is CSAC doing now? 
Staff Manual Revisions — tuition remission and vacation are the next items to consider. These are not new items, mainly rewording for clarification.

Staff Survey is Coming Soon
We want to hear from everyone. We hope to have the survey ready by the end of the summer.

List of Businesses
We are trying to compose a list of area businesses that will give discounts to Coker employees. If you know of any, please let Anna Tingen know.

Luau tomorrow!
Dr. Wyatt has approved closing the offices from 11:00 – 1:00 so everyone can attend at the same time.  If your office cannot close, please plan your lunches so everyone can attend.
