Sapphire Moon Dance Company Comes to Coker

Hartsville, S.C. — Sapphire Moon Dance Company will perform “Small Things: An Evening of Solo, Duet, and Small Group Works” on Saturday, April 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Watson Theater of the Elizabeth Boatwright Coker Performing Arts Center. Admission at the door is $5 for adults, $3 for children and senior citizens, and free with a Coker College ID.

Based in Columbia, S.C., Sapphire Moon specializes in contemporary dance theater that focuses on human relationships. The company uses props and videos to enhance their performances. Last year, Sapphire Moon performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland and the Piccolo Spoleto Dance Festival in Charleston.

Performing in the dance concert are Angela Gallo, Sapphire Moon’s artistic director and founder, Amanda Wright, a 2007 Coker College graduate, Dorian Swaney and Crystal Bedford. Gallo is assistant professor of dance at Coker College.
