Hartsville, S.C. — The Coker College Dance Program is presenting "Gloria: An Evening of Holiday Music and Dance,” a jazz piano recital and dance concert, on Wednesday, December 14 at 7 p.m. in the Watson Theater of the Elizabeth Boatwright Coker Performing Arts Center. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.

Jazz pianist Wendel Werner, a highly acclaimed musician from Knoxville who was named “Composer of the Year” by the Tennessee Piano Teachers Association, will perform solo renditions of holiday music for the first half of the program. The second half of the program will feature dancers from the Hartsville area performing to holiday music. There will be a reception in the Stein Gallery immediately following the performance.

Coker’s dance program is also registering students for its new Community Dance Program offering classes in ballet and modern dance from 5 to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday between January 17 and April 17. Taught by Coker dance majors, the students in the program will be able to perform in the college’s Informal Showings at the end of the spring semester.
