Coker Chamber Singers present Fall Concert Spanning Five Centuries

Hartsville, S.C. — Coker College Music presents the Coker Chamber Singers fall concert “Sing We and Chant It!” on Tuesday, November 13 at 7:30 p.m. in the C. W. Coker Auditorium in Davidson Hall. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend. 

Conducted Dr. William Caswell, assistant professor of music, the concert will feature music spanning five centuries. The Chamber Singers will perform 14 works by composers such as Henry Purcell (1658-1695), Gabriel Fauré (1845-1924), Thomas Morley (1557-1603), Franz Biebl (1906-2001), and Josquin Des Prez (1450-1521), among others. Rhonda W. McElveen is the accompanist. 

Formed in 2004, the Coker Chamber Singers is an auditioned choir that studies and performs choral chamber works of all musical periods. The group is comprised of sopranos Avery Bateman, Meredith Gratton, Amesha Johnson, and Breonna Payne; altos Leah Byrd, Shannon Crouch, Courtney Lytton, and Valerie Wilke; tenors Courtney Dease, Tim Dupré, Julio Ruiz, and Adam Winstead; and bass singers Bryant Belin, Adam Johnson, Joshua McKenny, and Cody Smith.
