Hartsville, S.C. — Members of the Tuskegee Airmen, the famed World War II aviators, will discuss their experiences in a forum at Coker College on Thursday, February 15 at 7:30 p.m. in the C.W. Coker Auditorium in Davidson Hall. The forum is a Black History Month event hosted by Coker College’s African American Studies program. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend. The Tuskegee Airmen are the trail-blazing African American pilots, bombardiers, navigators, and support personnel that fought in World War II. The pilots of the 99th Fighter Squadron and the 332nd Fighter Group of the U.S Army Air Corps distinguished themselves in combat missions in the European Theater. The panelists in the Coker College forum are members of the Spann Watson Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen of Columbia, S.C. The chapter’s goals are to preserve the history of African American pilots and to inspire young people to pursue careers in aviation, engineering technology, and aerospace. -30-
