Hartsville, SC — Dr. Lucille Sutton, assistant professor of education at Coker College, was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of the Eastern Educational Research Association (EERA). EERA’s mission is to encourage growth and improvement of educational research. Sutton was also named EERA Division Director for Special Populations.

Additionally, Sutton was recently elected to the Teacher Cadet Advisory Council for the Center of Educator Recruitment, Retention, and Advancement for South Carolina.

Sutton joined the Coker faculty in 2002. She earned her undergraduate degree from South Carolina State University, and her master's and Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina. In addition to teaching education, she is the director of Coker's African American Studies program.
