Spring Dance Concert Highlights New Choreography

Hartsville, S.C. — Coker College Dance Theater will perform its annual spring concert showcasing original student and faculty choreography from Thursday, February 16 to Saturday, February 18 at 8 p.m. in the Watson Theater of the Elizabeth Boatwright Coker Performing Arts Center. Admission at the door is $6 for adults, $3 for children and non-Coker students, and free with a Coker College ID.

The concert is the senior thesis for dance majors Deborah Maine of Yemassee, S.C., and Sarah Henderson of Broomfield, CO. Other choreography is by Coker dance professors Wanda K.W. Ebright and Angela Gallo, as well as Travis Gatling, an assistant professor at Ohio University’s School of Dance.

In addition to the recorded music that accompanies dance pieces, the concert will feature performances Tangela Benliza, a senior music major from Florence, S.C., and acclaimed jazz pianist Wendel Werner from Knoxville, Tn.

Over dancers will perform in the concert, including Maine, Henderson, Ebright and Gallo.
