Spring Dance Concert Highlights New Choreography

Hartsville, S.C. —
Coker College Dance Theater will perform its annual spring concert showcasing
original student and faculty choreography from Thursday, February 16 to
Saturday, February 18 at 8 p.m. in the Watson Theater of the Elizabeth
Boatwright Coker Performing Arts Center. Admission at the door is $6 for
adults, $3 for children and non-Coker students, and free with a Coker
College ID.
The concert is the senior thesis for dance majors Deborah Maine of Yemassee,
S.C., and Sarah Henderson of Broomfield, CO. Other choreography is by
Coker dance professors Wanda K.W. Ebright and Angela Gallo, as well as
Travis Gatling, an assistant professor at Ohio University’s School of
Dance.
In addition to the recorded music that accompanies dance pieces, the concert
will feature performances Tangela Benliza, a senior music major from Florence,
S.C., and acclaimed jazz pianist Wendel Werner from Knoxville, Tn.
Over dancers will perform in the concert, including Maine, Henderson,
Ebright and Gallo. They are: Jessica Vause, Wesley Atkinson, Tiffany Jones,
Shante McDougald, Jackie O’Toole, Rezenkia Snipe, Janine Spevack, Heather
Watkins, Amanda Wright, Delcina Butler, Rose Forman, Kimberly Hardee,
Elsie Mufuka, Amanda Skipper, Madison Stump, Amy Becker, Mariya Colwell-LaFleur,
Angel Earley, Stacie Fields, Jessica Roller, Amanda Singleton, Adam Winstead,
Savannah Weaver, Jennifer Schock, Jaimee Novak and professors Phyllis
