Hartsville, SC - The Coker College Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK), the national leadership honor society, recently inducted 10 new members for 2004-2005.

ODK is reserved for college students, faculty and administrators who achieve a high level of accomplishment in academics, athletics, campus media, the creative and performing arts, and community service. Students must also hold a 3.0 GPA and be a junior or senior.

Coker College’s new ODK members are Jessica Alford, Jennifer Jackson, Alex Kornfeld, Gary Morgan, Morgan Neal, Katie Smith, Virginia Freeman, Damika Gainey and Audrey Hogan. Joining them are Scott Monetti, dean of campus life, and Dr. Cathy Cuppett, associate professor of Spanish.

The new members were recognized in a formal induction ceremony held in the College’s Drawing Room on November 30. Also participating in the ceremony were ODK officers Conrad Deese, Ashley Flowers, Katheryn Rayman, Marcos Sola, Brantlee Yarborough, and faculty advisor Melinda Norris, assistant professor of business administration.

“We are very excited about our new members,” said Yarborough, chair of ODK’s Public Relations Committee, “and especially glad that three of our inductees are from the Evening and Extended Studies Program.”

ODK was founded in 1914 at Washington and Lee University in Virginia. There are over 300 Circles of ODK in the country.
