Congressman John Spratt to give Keynote Address
Coker's 95th Commencement

180 students are expected to participate in Coker College’s 95th Commencement
on Saturday, May 10 at 9 a.m. on the school's Administration Building Lawn.
Congressman John M. Spratt (D-SC) will deliver the keynote address.
Spratt, who has been
a U.S. Representative for 20 years, will receive an honorary doctorate of law,
and Lee Howard Watson of Greenville, SC, will receive an honorary doctorate
of humane letters. She is a longtime benefactor of the arts and education in
South Carolina.
Additionally, the Coker College faculty will present the Algernon Sydney Sullivan
Award in recognition of excellence of character and service to humanity to Carl
and Mary Brown, executive directors of the South Carolina Foster Parents Association,
and to Emily Marovich, a graduating senior from Bartow, Fla. The Class of 2003
will present the annual Master Professor Award to a member of the faculty.
