Hartsville, S.C. -- The Coker Singers and the Coker Chamber Singers might be performing near you. To the right is a list of performance dates and venues. The concerts will include selections from George Frideric Handel, Franz Schubert, Daniel E. Gawthrop, Eric Whitacre and Rene Clausen.

Founded in 1908 as the official choral ensemble of Coker College, the Coker Singers have performed recently in Atlanta, Birmingham, Nashville, New Orleans, New York and throughout the Carolinas. In 2005, the Coker Singers sang at the United States Capitol in Washington, DC, and in New York City at St. Patrick's Cathedral and Carnegie Hall.

The Coker Music Program established the Coker Chamber Singers in fall 2004. This auditioned choir studies and performs choral chamber works of all musical periods.

Dr. William Carswell, assistant professor of music, directs the Coker choirs, and Sarah Carlson, adjunct professor of music, is the accompanist.
