Coker Singers to Perform Christmas Favorites

Hartsville, S.C. – Coker College Music presents the Coker Singers Christmas Concert, “Welcome All Wonders!,on Tuesday, December 4 at 8 p.m. at West Hartsville Baptist Church in Hartsville. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.  

The Coker Singers will also perform their Christmas Concert on Wednesday, December 5 at 7 p.m. at Bethesda Presbyterian Church in Camden, with free admission.

The Christmas concert will open with “Festival Voluntary” by Flor Peters. It will also feature “On Christmas Night” by Walter Pez, “The Christ-Child’s Lullaby” by Gwyneth Walker, and “Welcome All Wonders!” by J.A.C. Redford. Christmas favorites to be performed by the Coker Singers include “Silent Night” and “Go! Tell It!” Conducted by Dr. William Carswell, assistant professor of music, the Coker Singers will be accompanied by organist Ronda W. McElveen. There will also be drum and oboe accompaniment. 

Founded in 1908, the Coker Singers is the premiere choral ensemble of the College. The Coker Singers have performed throughout the United States, including New York, Atlanta, New Orleans, Birmingham, and the Carolinas. Other engagements include performances at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, DC, and at Carnegie Hall.
