Coker Chamber Singers Performance to Recognize

Hartsville, S.C. -- The Coker Chamber Singers, with four guest soloists, present "Mozartworks" on Sunday, March 19 at 4:00 p.m. at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church in Hartsville. Music for solo voice, choir and organ will be performed in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the birth of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Guest soloists are soprano Serena Hill, alto Brittnee Siemon, tenor Khary Wilson and bass Joseph Timms.

In addition, soloists from the choir include Jennifer Jackson, Michelle Caulder, Bryant Belin and Adam Winstead. The program will include "God is Our Refuge", "Ave verum corpus", "Regina Coeli", "Laudate Dominum" and one movement from the Mozart "Requiem". Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.

Founded in 2004, the Coker Chambers Singers is an auditioned choir that studies and performs choral chamber works of all musical periods. Dr. William Carswell, assistant professor of music, directs the Chamber Singers. The group often performs with the Coker Singers, the College's official choral ensemble since 1908..
