Coker Chamber Singers to Perform Fall Concert |

Hartsville, SC The Coker Chamber Singers will perform a concert on Tuesday, November 15 at 7:30 p.m. in the Hannah Lide Coker Recital Hall on campus. This is the first full concert by the Coker Chamber Singers since the group formed last fall. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend. Directed by Dr. William Carswell, assistant professor of music, the Coker Chamber Singers will perform 16 small choral works. The program will include “The Turtle Dove” arranged by Ralph Vaughan Williams, “Cantate Domino” by Giuseppe Pitoni, “Ave Maria” by Jacob Arcadelt, “Three Madrigals” by Emma Lou Diemer, and “Buffalo Gals” arranged by Alice Parker as well as the more contemporary “All I Want for Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey. Adjunct professor of music Sarah Carlson is the accompanist. An auditioned choir of 13 singers, the Coker Chamber Singers study and perform choral chamber works from all musical periods and has performed with the Coker Singers, the college’s official choral ensemble.
