Electronic Transfer of Stock or SecuritiesSecurities in a brokerage account — Securities held in a brokerage account may easily be electronically transferred to Coker College. We need to be notified when a transaction is underway (see contact information below). In addition, we need to know the donor’s name, the name of the stock(s) being transferred, and the date the transfer is to take place. Stock may be transferred directly to the College’s brokerage account at Stifel Nicolaus in Hartsville. The College’s DTC transfer number is 0793 and Coker’s account number is 71555528 and the account name is “Coker College Endowment Fund Clearing A”. If needed, the College’s Tax ID is 57-0324916. Securities in certificate form — If the stock certificate is held in the name of the donor and not endorsed on the back of the certificate, then the donor must execute a stock power and have signature Medallion guaranteed by an authorized officer of a brokerage firm or a bank that is registered by the SEC. When using the stock power, only the signature and the date are needed.
