The Cobra Den / Lounges / Residence Hall ProgrammingThe Cobra DenThe Cobra Den offers students an exciting place to hang out and enjoy guest DJs. Registered Student Organizations often sponsor theme nights in the Den, like Flashback and Halloween parties. All Cobra Den events can be viewed on the campus calendar. Hours: Tuesdays from 8 p.m. until 11 and during the weekends The Cobra Pit and the Coffee House are also located in the basement of Coker Residence Hall. The Cobra Pit offers students the luxury of playing pool or watching television without having to leave the residence halls. The Coffee House sponsors special events, including live performances by musical artists, bingo and dance lessons. LoungesDunbar Porch Dunbar Porch, located in between the Belk and Memorial residence halls on the second floor, is one of the favored recreational areas in the residence halls. It contains two ping pong tables, a big screen T.V., couches and chairs for lounging, and vending machines. Spivey Porch Spivey Porch, located in between the Belk and Memorial residence halls on the third floor, is our most popular study lounge in the residence halls. It contains two computers with Internet connection, study tables, chalkboard, and furniture for lounging. Movie Lounge Our movie lounge, located on the second floor of the Richard and Tuck Coker residence hall, contains a big screen T.V. and a surround sound system for watching television or movies with your friends. The North Rec Room The North rec room is located on the ground level of the Richard and Tuck Coker residence hall. It offers a ping pong table, a couch and chairs for lounging, and a television. Residence Hall ProgrammingGetting involved in activities is one of the easiest and most enjoyable ways to make the most of your time in the residence halls. The Resident Assistants and New Student Mentors provide monthly programs designed to develop community, educate, and enrich your experience at Coker College. In planning programs, RA’s and Mentors take in to consideration the interests of their residents. Floor programs have included movie nights, floor decorating parties, campus clean up days, and special dinners with faculty members. |
