Endowed
Scholarships
Scholarships
are the means through which the College recruits and retains
the best students. An Endowed Scholarship exist in perpetuity,
awarding funds annually from its corpus, to a qualifying
student. Often, family and friends establish endowed scholarships
in honor or memory of an individual.
An
endowed scholarship must have a minimum of $25,000 in
the corpus. An endowed scholarship fund can be established
through the Development Office in order to build the corpus.
Examples
of endowed scholarships at Coker include: the Jane Williams
Funderburk Endowed Scholarship, the Malcolm C. Doubles
Endowed Scholarship, the Vera King Watford Endowed Scholarship,
and the Lou Smith Otts 1934 Endowed Scholarship.
