“With 28 years of experience in higher education admissions in South Carolina, Elaine is extremely knowledgeable both about the specific needs of students in this region and about the enhanced career opportunities that come with a college education,” said Coker College Vice President of Student and Enrollment Services Steve Terry. “Beyond that, she has built a reputation in the Pee Dee region as an individual who consistently puts students first. We are excited to have her join our admissions team.” Previously, Hodges was director of recruitment and admissions at Florence-Darlington Technical College, where she was responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating the institution’s strategies for recruitment and admissions for traditional, non-traditional and international students. She is a past president of the South Carolina Technical Education Association and a member of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers and the Carolinas Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers. Hodges earned a bachelor’s degree in guidance and counseling from Charleston Southern University and completed graduate study in student personnel services at the University of South Carolina. Celebrating 40 years this year, Coker’s Adult Learners Program for Higher Achievement gives students an opportunity to earn a bachelor’s degree at night from three campus locations in the region: Harstville, Lake City and Marion.
