Senior chemistry major Dan Dong and Dr. Brown presented, “Analysis of expired over-the-counter ibuprofen tablets by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC),” an analytical chemistry research project. Junior chemistry major Brittany Baker presented her research done on organic chemistry with Dr. Pramod Chopade entitled, “Kinetic Studies of Titanocene (III)- Mediated Epoxide Reduction Reactions.” Sophomore chemistry major Katelyn Miller was a co-author with Baker on the research but was unable to attend the conference. Junior biology major Mark Williams presented his organic chemistry research with Dr. Chopade entitled, “Rapid and Efficient Synthesis of Bola-amphiphilic Diaziridines.” Coker alum Prashant Bhenswala, class of 2010, was a co-author with Williams on the research but was unable to attend the conference. Each student prepared a poster and gave a presentation to explain their research to fellow students and professors from all over the country. ------------------------------------------------- Coker College readies undergraduates for personal and professional success through a distinctive four-year program that emphasizes a practical application of the liberal arts as well as hands-on and discussion-based learning within and beyond the classroom.
