Dr. Suzanne Parker, Assistant Professor of Physical Education and Sport Studies, along with the help of current Coker senior Stephanie Leitgeb, Coker graduate Dani Moss (class of ’08) and colleague Amber Oretalano conducted a very informative workshop on the basics of “speedminton.” For those not familiar with “speedminton,” it is a racquet sport that combines the best of tennis, badminton and racquetball into a game that can be played by anyone, anywhere. With no net required, all you need are two racquets and a “speeder,” similar to a badminton shuttlecock, in order to play. It is an ideal game for physical education classes, as it can be played on any surface indoors or out. ------------------------------------------------- Coker College readies undergraduates for personal and professional success through a distinctive four-year program that emphasizes a practical application of the liberal arts as well as hands-on and discussion-based learning within and beyond the classroom. Coker is ranked among the “Best Colleges” in the South by U.S. News & World Report as well as The Princeton Review. Located in Hartsville, S.C., Coker is within two hours of the cultural, financial and recreational resources of Charlotte, Columbia, Charleston and Myrtle Beach.
