The workshops took place during English classes at the high school, with one focusing on the transition from high school to college and the second focusing on creative writing. The Sigma Tau Delta students gave presentations on prewriting and characterization, focusing mainly on prewriting and creating characters. Following the presentations, the group fielded questions from the high school students. “I was thrilled to find the creative writing class to be so engaged and interested in what we had to say,” said Sigma Tau Delta Treasurer Ivy Aldrich. “The types of questions that the students asked us were exciting, and it showed that they were really interested in the class and in the different methods people use when writing.” The workshops were 100 percent student initiated and planned. ------------------------------------------------- Coker College readies undergraduates for personal and professional success through a distinctive four-year program that emphasizes a practical application of the liberal arts as well as hands-on and discussion-based learning within and beyond the classroom.
