HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Beta Iota Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, an educator’s sorority, is hosting a special event Tuesday, October 26 at Davidson Hall of Coker College from 5:30-6:30.  The guest speaker is Ronald Townsend, who served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 1984 to 2006.

Mr. Townsend was elected Chairman of the Education and Public Works Commission in 1994 and served as Chairman of the committee until 2006.  He is currently working with the High Schools that Work initiative with the State Department of Education. 

The program is an informative question and answer non-partisan forum that focuses on how and why educators should be politically involved.  The public is cordially invited.
