HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College is pleased to announce the hiring of April Palmer as Coker’s new Director of Residence Life.

Palmer comes to Coker with a wealth of knowledge and experience in residence life and student activities. Most recently she was at the University of South Carolina Upstate serving as the Assistant Director of Student Life and the Resident Manager and prior to that was the Assistant Director of Student Activities at Lander University.

A graduate of Clemson University, Palmer holds a Master of Education degree with in emphasis in Higher Education Administration and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She is a Who’s Who Among Executives and Professionals Selection for 2010, a recipient of the Illumination Award from the Women’s Leadership Network and a Furman University Riley Institute Diversity and Leadership Award Nominee.

Palmer is also a member of the South Carolina College Personnel Association, the Southern Association of College Student Affairs and Chi Sigma Alpha National Student Affairs Honor Society.
