Johnson earned a bachelor’s degree from Coker in elementary education and she holds a master’s in education from the University of South Carolina. Since 1992, when she was named director of Christian education, Johnson has had a positive impact on thousands of people providing a valuable service to her church and community. Known for her dedication and exemplary work, Johnson established and oversees several successful programs at First Presbyterian Church, including summer youth mission trips, a yearlong confirmation course, a summer outreach ministry, and a community outreach initiative. Founded in 1908, Coker College is an independent, comprehensive college with a liberal arts core required of all students. Coker provides quality educational experiences in and out of the classroom that prepare graduates for professional and personal success. A close rapport between students, faculty and staff and the opportunity for students to customize their education are the foundations of the Coker College experience.
